Regarding rental cars, Eleuthera is very rural and the island is 110 miles long. There is a lot to see and do. If you want to explore, go sightseeing, visit other beaches and restaurants, etc., a rental car is recommend. Golf cart rentals are also available for around $50 a day. They of course have limited range, so while fine for short trips, they won’t work for sightseeing or visiting more distance restaurants or beaches. Taxis are also available, but they are expensive and less convenient. A rental car will cost around $65 per day, $55 per day if you rent by the week. Jeeps are $10 per day more and minivans are $20 per day more. There are no taxes or insurance charges. There are no big rental agencies on the island and the rental cars are all older and well used.
